🌱 Purpose & Vision
Junior Pastor 2 is the first level where a leader begins to oversee an entire RLCC Community. This role includes spiritual guidance, mentoring leaders, aligning ministries, and resolving issues at a broader level.
You are now entrusted with spiritual and organizational oversightβ€”not just of teams, but of the leaders of teams. Junior Pastors 2 serve under an Associate Pastor and help ensure that REACH, CORE, and LEAD ministries within a Community are healthy, fruitful, and aligned with RLCC’s mission.
This level represents a deepening call to shepherd the shepherds, to see with clarity, lead with wisdom, and love with grace.
βœ… Pre-Qualifications
  • Completed Level 3 – Junior Pastor 1
  • Demonstrated consistency in mentoring and team leadership
  • Endorsed by the LEAD Pastor or Associate Pastor
  • Currently assigned to oversee a specific RLCC Community
  • Able to serve approximately 7–9 hours/week
  • Regularly uses Planning Center and email for team communication

As a Junior Pastor 2, your key areas of service include:
  • Mentoring Junior Pastors 1 and Interns
  • Supervising REACH, CORE, and LEAD Teams in your Community
  • Casting vision and evaluating ministry health
  • Resolving relational, operational, and spiritual issues
  • Collaborating with the LEAD Pastor and other JP2s for church-wide alignment
🧭 TAG Mentoring Rhythm
Junior Pastors 2 participate in weekly TAG meetings with an Assistant or Associate Pastor. These meetings are crucial for:
  • Receiving feedback on leadership challenges
  • Sharing direction and burdens from your Community
  • Praying for wisdom and sustainability
  • Reflecting on spiritual discernment and key decisions
🧱 Training Projects (Complete 10 within 12 months)
Projects are chosen from each of the 3 skill areas. Each is grounded in real leadership practice and reflection.

  1. Community Intercession Journal – Keep a prayer journal for your Community's leaders and members.
  2. Listening Retreat Reflection – Participate in a retreat and share God’s direction for your Community.
  3. Spiritual Warfare Reflection – Reflect on leadership struggles through a spiritual lens.
  4. Mentoring for Spiritual Formation (2 stages) – Guide someone toward soul care and sustainable spiritual rhythms.
  5. Discernment in Leadership Decisions (2 stages) – Reflect on a key decision where spiritual discernment played a role.

  1. Preaching from the Old Testament (3 stages) – Deliver a theologically rich and relevant OT sermon.
  2. Community Vision Talk (2 stages) – Cast vision for your Community in a short and compelling talk.
  3. Delegation and Clarity Talk – Share instructions with purpose, authority, and clarity.
  4. Storytelling for Impact – Share a personal or ministry story that inspires growth.
  5. Pastoral Conversations Practice – Model one-on-one grace-filled guidance with someone in need.

  1. Community Assessment & Planning (3 stages) – Evaluate your Community's health and draft a 6-month plan.

  4. Equipping Event Planning – Organize a training or formation event for Lay Leaders or ministry workers.
  5. Leadership Pipeline Coaching – Identify and guide at least one leader through the LEAD process.

  • Resolve Issues – Address spiritual, relational, or structural problems wisely
  • Encourage Growth – Promote discipleship and teamwork across all levels

  • Attend weekly TAG with your Assistant or Associate Pastor
  • Consistent presence at Saturday Pastoral Staff Meetings
  • Active participation in Sunday Worship Services
  • Regular communication and reporting via Planning Center and email
  • Receive coaching and evaluation on spiritual and organizational leadership
