 ๐Ÿงญ Ministry Focus:
A Coach is someone who provides spiritual encouragement, practical guidance, and intentional feedback to individuals being trained or mobilized for ministry. Whether working with a Resource Person, Active Worker, or a potential Lay Leader, the Coach walks alongside themโ€”helping them grow in skill, character, and confidence as they serve. Coaches reflect the heart of Jesus by nurturing, equipping, and releasing others into Godโ€™s calling.
โœ… Pre-Qualifications
  • Demonstrates spiritual maturity, emotional stability, and a servant's heart
  • Faithfully involved in a Life Group and actively serving in ministry
  • Understands RLCCโ€™s mission, values, and leadership development process
  • Comfortable offering feedback with grace and clarity
  • Willing to be trained in coaching principles and practices
๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿซ Coaching Support
Each Coach will receive support from a System Coordinator or Ministry Head to stay aligned with the overall vision and process. Coaches are not expected to be experts, but guides and encouragers who walk alongside others. Regular check-ins, team huddles, and peer coaching opportunities will be provided for mutual support and growth.

๐Ÿ“˜ Project 1: Embrace the Heart of a Coach
Goal: Understand the spiritual foundation and purpose of coaching in ministry.
Activities:
  • Reflect on key Scriptures (e.g., 2 Timothy 2:2, Galatians 6:1โ€“2, Proverbs 27:17)
  • Watch or attend a short teaching on spiritual coaching
  • Write a short personal statement: โ€œWhy I want to coach others in ministryโ€
  • Share your reflection with a Senior Coach or Coordinator
๐Ÿ“˜ Project 2: Learn the Coaching Rhythm
Goal: Understand the flow of coaching from orientation to completion.
Activities:
  • Review the Coaching Guidelines and RLCCโ€™s training project structures
  • Walk through a sample coaching timeline with a mentor
  • Attend a TAG or system huddle where coaching practices are modeled
  • Role-play a full coaching session using the provided framework
๐Ÿ“˜ Project 3: Practice Giving Feedback
Goal: Develop skill and grace in offering reflection and redirection.
Activities:
  • Learn and practice the โ€œaffirmโ€“adjustโ€“affirmโ€ feedback method
  • Review real or sample training project outputs and offer constructive comments
  • Observe a live ministry role (if available) and write a coaching response
  • Receive feedback on your coaching from a mentor
๐Ÿ“˜ Project 4: Coach a Volunteer Through a Project
Goal: Apply your coaching skills with a real ministry worker in training.
Activities:
  • Be assigned to a Resource Person, Active Worker, or Lay Leader-in-training
  • Guide them through at least one full training project
  • Offer prayer, support, and written or verbal feedback
  • Reflect on the coaching experience and submit a short summary to your Coordinator

Goal: Learn to support spiritual formation, not just task completion.
Activities:
  • Read or listen to a teaching on spiritual listening or coaching conversations
  • Practice active listening in a coaching session
  • Reflect on how to pray for and with the person youโ€™re coaching
  • Journal one insight God gave you through the process

  • Serve under a System Coordinator or Ministry Head
  • Join monthly coaching huddles or TAG reflections
  • Receive mentoring from a Senior Coach or Staff Leader
  • Report periodically on the progress of those youโ€™re coaching
