STEP 1: Congregational Prayer Journal
Checklist for Coach:
- β Invite the pastor to begin a journal of intercession for the people, ministries, and direction of the church.
- β Encourage them to include names, needs, answered prayers, and spiritual impressions.
- β Revisit the journal after 4β6 weeks.
- β Debrief: βHow has intercession clarified or deepened your vision and burden?β
STEP 2: Pastoral Rule of Life
Checklist for Coach:
- β Guide the pastor in crafting a sustainable Rule of Life: rest, devotion, relationship, sabbath, boundaries.
- β Review it together to ensure it aligns with their current season and ministry demands.
- β Follow up on how they are living into it after 1β2 months.
- β Debrief: βWhat parts of the Rule bring renewal? What challenges consistency?β
STEP 3: Mentoring Through Soul Care (2 stages)
Stage 1 β Mentoring Sessions
- β Help the pastor identify 1β2 Senior Leaders (APs or Associates) to mentor specifically in soul care.
- β Support them in preparing discussion rhythms and tools.
Stage 2 β Reflection and Feedback
- β Ask the pastor to reflect on the impact of the mentoring.
- β Debrief: βHow are you shaping your leaders for longevity in ministry?β
STEP 4: Spiritual Discernment in Direction
Checklist for Coach:
- β Ask the pastor to select a recent or current church-wide directional decision.
- β Guide them in reflecting on the role of prayer, silence, Scripture, and team discernment.
- β Debrief: βHow do you know when God is leading versus when youβre relying on strategy?β

Stage 1 β Series Planning
- β Help the pastor outline a multi-week preaching series with spiritual formation goals.
- β Review titles, scriptures, and flow.
Stage 2 β Delivery
- β Observe or listen to at least one message.
- β Offer sermon feedback (biblical clarity, pastoral tone, transformation focus).
Stage 3 β Review Impact
- β Debrief: βWhat spiritual fruit came out of the series? What would you do differently?β
STEP 6: Annual Vision Talk (3 stages)
Stage 1 β Crafting the Vision Message
- β Guide the pastor in preparing a compelling talk casting church-wide direction for the coming year.
- β Help align the content with RLCCβs overall mission and prophetic leading.
Stage 2 β Delivery
- β Watch or review the delivery during Vision Sunday or a key gathering.
- β Offer feedback on tone, clarity, and connection to the congregation.
Stage 3 β Reflection
- β Debrief: βDid the church embrace the vision? What was confirmed through response?β
STEP 7: SLT Devotional or Teaching
Checklist for Coach:
- β Ask the pastor to prepare a 15β30 minute devotional for the Senior Leadership Team.
- β Emphasize depth of Scripture and spiritual leadership themes.
- β Review their notes and tone before delivery.
- β Debrief: βHow did your teaching shepherd the SLT?β
STEP 8: Conflict Communication Strategy
Checklist for Coach:
- β Help the pastor reflect on a real or hypothetical church-wide tension.
- β Support them in designing a communication plan: clarity, compassion, channels, timing.

- β Assist or observe the presentation to key leaders.
- β Encourage early wins and implementation benchmarks.
Stage 3 β Evaluation and Adjustment
- β Debrief: βWhat has been implemented effectively? What gaps are emerging?β
STEP 10: SLT Mentoring Structure

- β Assist the pastor in developing 5β10 spiritual and mission-focused indicators for church health.
- β Help clarify how theyβll measure engagement, formation, evangelism, and alignment.
- β Debrief: βWhat does this dashboard reveal about where your church needs strengthening?β
STEP 13: Center Multiplication Proposal
Checklist for Coach:
- β Ask the pastor to develop a proposal for multiplying RLCCβs impact (e.g., new Center, location, service).
- β Review missional logic, leadership feasibility, and spiritual readiness.
- β Debrief: βHow is the Lord leading you to prepare for church growth or expansion?β
