STEP 1: Help Someone Know More About RLCC
Checklist for Coach:
- โ Explain the purpose of this project: to introduce RLCCโs mission, values, and methods.
- โ Provide a copy or link to the RLCC Vision Seminar material.
- โ Help the trainee identify someone they can invite or guide through the seminar.
- โ Encourage them to follow up with the person and answer questions.
- โ Debrief: Ask how the session went and what the other person learned.
๐ Note: The person doesn't need to join right awayโfocus on a clear, gracious presentation.
STEP 2: Help Someone Discover Their Ministry
Checklist for Coach:
- โ Introduce or review the โYou Are SPECIALโ and โiSERVEโ tools with the trainee.
- โ Help them select someone to guide through this process.
- โ Coach them on how to explain each step simply and relationally.
- โ Let them walk the person through the full process (test, reflection, prayer, decision).
- โ Debrief: What ministry calling did the person discover? What did the trainee learn?
๐ Note: You can role-play this step with the trainee first, if needed.
STEP 3: Coach or Mentor a Worker
Checklist for Coach:
- โ Help the trainee identify someone new (or growing) in their ministry team.
- โ Discuss the difference between coaching (skills) and mentoring (growth).
- โ Guide them to set regular check-ins (even short ones) with that person.
- โ Ask the trainee to pray with and guide that worker through early challenges.
- โ Debrief: Ask what the worker needs most and how the trainee can continue supporting them.
๐ Note: Progress over perfectionโsmall consistent support is key.
STEP 4: Lead a Devotional or Huddle
Checklist for Coach:
- โ Encourage the trainee to prepare a short devotional or encouragement.
- โ Help them choose a relevant scripture and connect it to the teamโs experience.
- โ Offer to review their notes or do a practice run.
- โ Let them lead it during a team meeting or group chat if needed.
- โ Debrief: How did the team respond? What did the trainee enjoy or find difficult?
๐ Note: Encourage them to speak from the heart, not just from notes.
STEP 5: Coordinate a Ministry Task
Checklist for Coach:
- โ Ask the trainee to take charge of one small event, schedule, or task for their team.
- โ Help them create a simple checklist or timeline (e.g. Planning Center task, Google Doc).
- โ Coach them to communicate clearly with all involved (chat, calendar, etc.).
- โ Observe how they handle logistics and follow-through.
- โ Debrief: What went well? What would they improve next time?
๐ Note: Even a Sunday schedule or team rotation counts as a โministry task.โ
STEP 6: Give Feedback to a Ministry Worker
Checklist for Coach:
- โ Talk with the trainee about how to give feedback that builds people up.
- โ Share the โaffirm first, adjust next, affirm againโ method.
- โ Let them practice giving feedback on a recent task or service.
- โ Encourage gentleness and clarity.
- โ Debrief: Ask how the worker received the feedback and how the trainee felt giving it.

Final Step (Optional): Completion Review
Checklist for Coach:
- โ Confirm all 6 projects have been completed meaningfully.
- โ Celebrate spiritual and leadership growth with the trainee.
- โ Recommend the next step (e.g., IMPACT Team or mentoring others).
- โ Pray together and speak encouragement over their development.
