Launching a Weekly Worship Gathering for God’s People
Introduction
At Real Life Christian Communities (RLCC), we believe that God has called us not only to gather in small groups but also in larger gatherings where His people can worship together, hear His Word proclaimed, and experience His presence as one body. We call these larger gatherings Congregations.
A Congregation is a weekly worship gathering, usually on Sundays, made up of fifty or more people from different backgrounds—adults, youth, and children. It is a spiritual family where God’s people come together to glorify Him and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
The worship gathering itself may seem simple:
- Welcome
- Worship
- Greetings
- Announcements
- Sermon
- Altar Call
- Final Worship
But behind this simple flow is a team of people working together to make the service meaningful and impactful. To sustain a congregation, several ministry teams are needed, including:
- Worship Team – leading God’s people in praise and worship.
- Events Team – preparing and coordinating the flow of the service.
- Online Team – ensuring the service is available online for those who cannot attend onsite.
- Prayer Team – interceding for the service and ministering to people’s spiritual needs.
- Ushering Team – welcoming and assisting attendees with care and order.
A congregation also requires a regular preacher or a team of preachers who can faithfully proclaim God’s Word each week. And of course, there must be a viable location—whether a physical Center, an online platform, or both.
Currently, RLCC has two congregations meeting every Sunday at our Center:
- Filipino Congregation (9:00–10:30 AM)
- Taglish Congregation (11:00 AM–12:30 PM)
Both are available onsite and online. In the future, however, we envision having more congregations in other Centers—reaching more people for Christ.
This guide is designed for those who feel called to start a new Congregation. It will walk you through the biblical foundation, the practical steps, and the leadership responsibilities needed to launch and sustain a worshiping community. Starting a congregation is not just about organizing a service—it is about creating a space where people can encounter God, be transformed by His Word, and become part of His family.
