🎯 Ministry Focus: Walking with others in prayerful co-discernment under the CORE System
✅ Pre-Qualifications
  • Emotionally mature and spiritually grounded in Christ
  • Known for deep listening, discernment, and confidentiality
  • Active in a Life Group or ministry setting at RLCC
  • Endorsed by a CORE Team Leader, Pastor, or Mentor
  • Willing to be trained in spiritual companionship, reflection, and prayerful discernment
  • Uses email regularly for communication
🧠 Training Projects (Complete 5–7 projects within 3 to 6 months)
Projects are designed to help Soul Companions develop spiritual attentiveness, listening skills, and a discerning posture. Each one is shared during a Soul Companions Circle or in one-on-one mentorship.
Project 1: Understanding the Role of a Soul Companion
Goal: Learn what it means to be a safe and spiritual presence in someone’s life.
Activities:
  • Study a short resource or teaching on spiritual companionship
  • Reflect on how this role differs from advice-giving or problem-solving
  • Share your insights during a CORE Team Huddle
Project 2: Practicing Sacred Listening
Goal: Learn how to listen deeply without interruption, judgment, or fixing.
Activities:
  • Practice a listening session with a peer using prompts
  • Focus on silent presence and gentle questions
  • Debrief with a mentor or during your next CORE Team Huddle
Project 3: Spiritual Conversation Role-Play
Goal: Grow in the ability to co-discern God’s movement in another’s life.
Activities:
  • Use questions like “Where have you sensed God’s presence this week?”
  • Guide a friend or peer through reflection and shared silence
  • Write or share a reflection on what you noticed
Project 4: Discerning God's Will Together
Goal: Practice spiritual discernment with someone seeking God’s direction.
Activities:
  • Walk with someone discerning a decision (e.g., career, calling, relationship)
  • Ask questions, pray together, and wait on the Spirit
  • Reflect on the process and outcome during your next CORE Team Huddle
Project 5: Practicing the Examen Prayer Together
Goal: Help someone reflect daily on God’s presence and leading.
Activities:
  • Lead a friend through the Daily Examen (reviewing gratitude, emotions, and response)
  • Debrief the experience together
  • Share your learning in your CORE Team Huddle
Project 6: Exploring a Spiritual Practice Together
Goal: Share and reflect on a spiritual rhythm such as silence, Sabbath, or Scripture meditation.
Activities:
  • Practice a discipline together for one week
  • Journal about the experience and discuss with your companion
  • Share insights in your CORE Team Huddle
Project 7: Final Reflection on Being a Soul Companion
Goal: Articulate your growth and readiness to walk with others.
Activities:
  • Write a short reflection (300–500 words) on what you’ve learned, how you’ve grown, and what you’re still discerning
  • Share this in a CORE Team Huddle or with your mentor

  • Be Present with Intentionality - Offer your presence to others in quiet, prayerful, and Spirit-sensitive ways.
  • Practice Shared Discernment - Listen for the voice of the Spirit together with those you walk alongside.
  • Encourage Obedience to God’s Leading - Gently support others as they respond to what God is showing them.
  • Model Humility and Patience - Allow space, silence, and grace for growth and clarity to unfold.
🔄 Accountability & Support
  • Serve under the CORE System Coordinator
  • Participate in monthly CORE Team Huddle for reflection, feedback, and prayer
  • Receive guidance from a mentor or experienced Soul Companion
  • Track your project progress and conversations through the CORE System tools
