🧭 Ministry Focus: A Coordinator assists a Lay Leader in facilitating Circle Events (Life Groups, Task Groups, Help Groups, Share Groups, etc.). Coordinators help with organization, communication, care, and participation—while being mentored and trained to eventually become a Lay Leader.
✅ Pre-Qualifications
- A growing and consistent walk with Jesus
- Active involvement in a Circle Event and Sunday Worship
- Able to communicate clearly and respond promptly—especially via email
- Organized, dependable, and supportive in group settings
- Endorsed by a Lay Leader or CORE System Coach
- Willing to be mentored and developed for future leadership
🧭 Training Projects (to be completed within 1–2 months)
📘 Project 1: Learn the Circle Framework
Goal: Understand the purpose and structure of Circle Events.
Activities:
- Attend a CORE orientation or watch an overview video about Circle Events
- Read through the Circle Event guide provided by your Lay Leader
- Observe one full Circle Event with your Lay Leader and take notes
- Share your insights during the CORE Team Huddle
📧 Project 2: Coordinate Communication
Goal: Support the Circle by sending regular, clear, and timely messages.
Activities:
- Draft a welcome email or message for new members (reviewed by your Lay Leader)
- Send a reminder message before the next Circle gathering
- Follow up with absent members via email or chat with encouragement
- Share your communication samples during the CORE Team Huddle
🧑🤝🧑 Project 3: Assist in a Circle Event
Goal: Take a supportive role during a live Circle gathering.
Activities:
- Help with setup, materials, or attendance tracking
- Engage with members before and after the gathering
- Offer to lead a prayer, icebreaker, or discussion recap
- Reflect on your experience in the CORE Team Huddle
🎤 Project 4: Facilitate a Segment of a Circle Event
Goal: Lead a small portion of a Circle gathering with confidence and clarity.
Activities:
- Choose a short segment to lead (e.g., welcome, devotional, announcements)
- Practice with your Lay Leader or mentor and receive feedback
- Facilitate your segment during a live Circle Event
- Debrief your experience during the CORE Team Huddle
📌 Core Responsibilities: A.S.S.I.S.T. the Circle Leader
- 📅 Attend & Support – Be present and help facilitate Circle Events
- 📧 Send Communication – Help with emails and updates to keep members informed
- 🙋 Serve Practically – Assist with reminders, materials, and setup
- 💬 Invite Feedback – Debrief with your Lay Leader and reflect during CORE Team Huddles
- 👀 Spot Needs – Identify care opportunities or engagement issues
- 🌱 Train to Lead – Grow toward Lay Leadership through feedback and coaching
🔄 Accountability & Support
- Serve under a Lay Leader and CORE System Coach
- Attend CORE Team Huddles regularly
- Receive mentoring, feedback, and leadership preparation
📈 Basis of Evaluation for Continued Service
- Provides consistent and dependable support to the Circle - Shows up faithfully, follows through on commitments, and actively contributes to the success and flow of Circle gatherings.
- Communicates with clarity and timeliness (especially via email) - Sends thoughtful and timely messages, helping the group stay informed, connected, and engaged—especially through email correspondence.
- Grows in initiative, care, and group facilitation skills - Takes increasing responsibility, looks for ways to serve, cares for members, and practices leading parts of the Circle with competence.
- Demonstrates readiness for future leadership and influence - Shows signs of maturity, spiritual growth, and leadership potential, making them a strong candidate to become a future Lay Leader.
