Be a Ministry Head
A Training Course for Ministry Leaders Who Shepherd and Oversee Church Ministries
Welcome to the Ministry Head Training Course!
This course is designed to equip you for the vital role of a Ministry Head — someone who leads and manages a major church ministry that includes various teams and tasks. Ministries such as Events, NextGen, Outreach, Discipleship, or Admin Support are composed of multiple task-based groups (e.g., Praise and Worship, Tech, Ushers, Guest Relations, etc.).
As a Ministry Head, you don’t simply manage tasks — you shepherd people. You lead a team of Supervisors called IMPACT (Integrated Ministry Planning and Coordination Team) who help you oversee TASK Group Facilitators. These leaders, in turn, manage the day-to-day operations of the ministry teams under your care.
Unlike Community Overseers, you do not supervise LIFE Groups, since your workers belong to communities already. However, you are still responsible for their spiritual health by:
- Coordinating closely with Community Overseers, and
- Providing mentoring or coaching to ministry leaders and workers as needed.
How This Course Works
This course is not just about learning concepts. It's about applying what you learn directly in your ministry context. Each session is designed to help you grow in understanding your role and responsibilities as a Ministry Head while receiving coaching and doing actual ministry work. You’ll learn by doing — with feedback, support, and reflection.
- Each session will contain clear teachings, practical assignments, and real-life applications.
- You will be guided by a Coach who will meet with you regularly for mentoring and feedback.
- You will also have opportunities to collaborate with your IMPACT team and practice what you’re learning in actual ministry situations.
